Evolved from ancient Ayurveda and Siddha systems to provide rapid, natural recovery from spine degeneration, joint trauma, and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
It is a form of treatment which evolved from Ayurveda and was later perfected to meet the demanding need for rapid recovery from combat and sports injuries among the ancient warriors of Kerala. Kalari Chikitsa uses proprietary, secret herbal oil mixes traditionally inherited through palm-leaf manuscripts.
Kalari chikitsa covers all classical Ayurveda and Siddha therapies, but the medicines and diagnostic pressure points used are fundamentally distinct and sacred. We tailor every intervention to the specific body constitution and pathology of the patient.
Belonging to the traditional Kalariyil Devarmana family, Srilakshmi M (General Manager & Senior Kalari Marma Treatment Specialist) represents the valuable role of women in a field where treatment centres with female practitioners are relatively few. Trained under a Guru and dedicated to Guru Parampara, she personally oversees all therapies for female patients—ensuring women of all ages can walk in comfortably and receive authentic treatment in complete privacy and dignity.
The Sacred Art of Therapeutic Kalari Massage
Uzhichil is a unique hereditary Kalari massage therapy used to rejuvenate the nervous and muscular systems of the body and to stimulate blood circulation. Medicinal oils boiled in our facility are generously applied to the body.
A precise amount of pressure is applied onto the muscles and nadis to invigorate sluggish circulatory and nervous pathways. Uniquely, both the hands and feet of the therapist are employed in specialised continuous strokes.
Therapeutic Bundle Massage with Medicated Warmth
A Kizhi is a tightly bound herbal cloth bundle containing traditional medicinal leaves, roots, and herbal powders. The massage given using this medicated bundle is called Kizhithirummu or Pindaswedam.
During the session, the Kizhi is repeatedly dipped into warm medicinal oils (Thailams) formulated for specific inflammation. Owing to the combined effect of active botanical decoctions, traditional herbs, and penetrating warmth, Marma Kizhi is traditionally applied to soothe osteoarthritis discomfort, rheumatic joint pain, muscular fatigue, and localised joint swelling.

The 107 Vital Prana Junctions of the Body
Marmas are the vital energy intersections in the body close to the skin surface where important nerves form junctures with muscle fibres, veins, bones, and joints. Prana (life energy) flows channelled through these 107 vital points.
When trauma, improper posture, or physical strain creates localised blockages, muscular discomfort and joint stiffness result. Our Vaidyar gently applies calibrated pressure to these points using traditional techniques, helping relieve muscular tightness, improve circulation, and support balanced mobility.

Spondylosis refers to degenerative age or posture-related changes in the spine. Episodes of back or neck discomfort can be acute or chronic, characterised by muscular stiffness, dull aching, or radiating nerve tension.
At Navajeevanam, we address Cervical Spondylosis, Lumbar Back Discomfort, and Sciatic Muscular Tension using traditional warm herbal oil pooling (Greeva Vasti and Kati Vasti), gentle Marma mobilisation, and traditional Kashayams to soothe muscular spasms, reduce localised tension, and support spinal flexibility.

Traditional Support for Joint Stiffness & Knee Comfort
Wear and tear from ageing, occupational strain, or previous injury can cause persistent joint stiffness and restrict movement. Chronic discomfort in the knees is commonly linked to cartilage wear, ligament strain, or reduced joint lubrication.
Our hereditary treatment protocols stimulate localised circulation, soothe stiffness, and support natural joint mobility using specialised medicated oils, Janu Vasti, and herbal poultices.

Swedana is a traditional steam treatment derived from the Sanskrit word swid ('to sweat'). Generated from boiling medicated herbal decoctions, Kalari steam therapy dilates body channels to promote perspiration, purge metabolic wastes (Ama), and ease body heaviness.
Combined with Nikarsa (Udwarthanam dry herbal powder scrub massage), this protocol safely stimulates skin circulation, tones bodily tissues, and complements an active, disciplined lifestyle.
